The various parallel Shenton 'trees' incorporate about ten generations, starting from the earliest known ancestor. The merged tree, from Ancestral Shenton, gets pretty unwieldy to show on a single graphical Descendant Chart. Besides, the earlier generations are somewhat thin while the middle generations become more densely populated.

Therefore the tree has been broken into a set of different Descendant Charts, for better visualization.

• The upper-level chart shows the four lines from "Ancestral Shenton", covering the earliest persons of each line, their siblings (if any), and their immediate descendants (four generations).
• The Nathanial lower-level chart shows six generations from Nathanial toward present day.
• The Thomas lower-level chart shows six generations from Thomas toward present day.
• The William (of England) lower-level chart shows six generations from William toward present day.
• The William (of Maryland) lower-level chart shows six generations from William toward present day.
• The new John lower-level chart shows five generations from John toward present day.
